Powerful. Transformative. Informative. How to Live With Sickle Cell Sickle Cell and I by Tola Dehinde is all these things and more. The opening chapters describe her experience from childhood to the present in a way that speaks even to those who may not have any knowledge of Sickle Cell. It touches the heart deeply These opening chapters provide a framework for the considerable body of information on how 'warriors' (those who do battle with Sickle Cell) can help themselves in various ways, including diet. Interestingly, I feel this body of information could also be helpful to others not in the Sickle Cell community. This book is a valuable resource to all of us with its wealth of well researched information. But over and above that, we are blessed to understand this issue better through the clarity and power of the writing and the generosity of heart and spirit of the writer.

Wow, what a powerful and insightful story of a life filled with many challenges and the determination to excel despite the disease. This book gives awareness and understanding to Sickle Cell Disease that is most common in the black ancestry but is also misunderstood. The book teaches that with proper management of the disease, including strong family support, knowledge, and understanding from establishments, (such as education, employment and society), SCD surferers will have a healthy lifestyle. I especially recommend this educational book to everyone in the place of authority to be part of the healthcare team.

Hi Tola, I just finished reading your e-book😁. I loved the simplicity of it. Your calm nature comes across in your writing. I particularly loved the conclusion, and the following extract: "In as much as we pray and God hears us and answers us, the answer is not in the power of our faith but in the power of His faithfulness. We don’t trust ourselves because we have prayed, we trust Him, who answers prayers." Well done for bringing this to life. I am sure the book will bless many people as it has blessed me. Have a lovely day ❤️
